For many people, retirement can’t come soon enough. The idea of no longer working 9 to 5 and having the freedom to indulge in your hobbies and to go travelling is something to relish.
Enjoying life to the full is a top priority at every Richmond retirement village, where quality facilities, like-minded people and a safe and secure environment are all central to happiness and well-being. Now there’s a chance to sample life in a luxurious retirement village before moving in, thanks to a ‘Try before you buy’ scheme just launched by Richmond Villages.
Potential purchasers can spend a few days living at Richmond Letcombe Regis, the latest of the company’s five retirement villages, which offers a variety of new homes and facilities that include a wellness spa with swimming pool, gym, health & beauty treatment rooms and a hair salon. There’s also a restaurant offering an excellent dining experience with meals created using locally sourced ingredients, a shop, café, IT and craft rooms, a library, a bowling green, nature reserve with lake, and a kitchen garden with a residents’ greenhouse.
Activities typically include art classes, bridge, bowls, film nights, happy hours, supper clubs, interesting visiting speakers and live performance events.
Paddy Brice, managing director of Richmond Villages, says: "We have been building and operating luxury retirement villages for 17 years, so we completely understand the apprehension many people may feel when they move, often from a much loved family home into a totally new environment. From first hearing about a retirement village to the move and getting settled, there are a lot of things to consider, and getting a feel for your new home ahead of purchasing is just one of the things we can do to help.”
Award-winning Richmond Villages, part of the Barchester Healthcare Group, is considered a benchmark when it comes to retirement living options. Accommodation includes Independent Living Apartments, which are purchased, and ideal for those who can live independently but like the idea of being in a safe and sociable community where care and assistance are close at hand if needed. These large apartments have a kitchen, living room and one or two bedrooms, and with an en suite to the main bedroom.
Richmond Villages ‘Try before you buy’ offers self-catering accommodation at Richmond Letcombe Regis from £370 for three nights* or £630 for seven nights*, and refundable against purchase. Guest accommodation is in a spacious and beautifully furnished apartment comprising living room, double bedroom, shower-room, a kitchen and balcony. Full English breakfast, lunch and evening meals can be booked in the restaurant. The price includes full use of village facilities including the Spa, and bed linen and towels are provided.
