Nicola Laing:
Recent statistics show that the over fifties are struggling to get back into work.
Forty four per cent of unemployed in this age group have been out of work for more than a year. Because of the barriers in traditional workplaces, many men and women in their fifties and sixties are opting for self-employment as a means to channelling their experience and energy with the potential to reap the rewards for their efforts.
The trade body that represents the UK’s home business companies such as Forever Living Products has seen a 29% increase in over 50s joining in 2011 compared to 2009/10. This rise is attributed to older people looking to supplement retirement income through flexible part-time work.
In the last year I have seen a dramatic rise in the over 50’s joining Forever Living Products. Some people are coming to work with Forever Living as they need additional top up incomes, whilst others have had enough of continual redundancies.
There is a social side to these businesses and with a good amount of life experience under their belt the over 50’s have the right mind-set to treat this as a business rather than just a hobby. This ensures that serious incomes and pensions are created with a company like Forever Living. Imagine never having to work for someone else again and still having the extras and luxuries in later years even if the work place and the economy have let you down.
Michele, after her seventh redundancy, saw Forever Living Products as something she could own and control which “no one could take away from me”. Read Michele's story >
Compared to a Franchise this is an low entry level business too. Forever suggests a start-up business evaluation pack of products and paperwork ready for business for £199.75p - considering, with the right attitude the rewards on offer can run into 6 figure incomes, this is the bargain and unrivalled opportunity of the century!
