What would you do if you lost your job tomorrow? Do you have a financial safety net in place? Are you ready for retirement? What happens if you are hit by ill health or redundancy? They are all questions you should ask yourself.
Well according to new research almost four million of us would be unable to maintain our current lifestyle beyond February next year if we had to live off the provisions we have put in place.
In fact, nearly a fifth of us would have to dip into our savings, and those of us who would turn to our credit card in times of crisis would only be able to last five months.
So with today’s job market still very uncertain, what can you do to ensure security for yourself and your family should the worst happen?
In the following video, Roger Edwards, Proposition Director from Scottish Provident offers his advice and tips including what actions you should be taking now to ensure you are prepared for every eventuality.
