Capture the Magic of Train Travel in Europe

Capture the Magic of Train Travel in Europe

Being single and over 50 this is a great alternative.

As I sat in seat 30B, my delayed flight to Rome was turning into “a nightmare” before we’d even hit the skies.

After the rigmarole of airport check in and sitting in a crowded departure lounge I sat weighing up my surroundings and realized….once inside the aircraft I really could be going anywhere.

Fed up with being one of the crowd

Rome, Barcelona, Istanbul….my journey would be the same. The inside of an aircraft gives us all - you, me the man set in the next seat - the same experience, and so I vowed “next time I travel to Europe I’ll take the train”.

Rail holidays in Europe - for me, a far better journey

That was some years ago, and now I enjoy the many pleasures of train travel, see the changing landscape of the countries I travel through, meet people and arrive in my destination feeling relaxed. Some of my journeys may have taken longer than a flight, some may have cost more, but I always feel my holiday starts with the journey - not the destination – and isn’t that what travelling is all about.

Then I found Railbookers

Some years ago through a friend I found this UK based tour operator and after looking at their website for some inspiration of where to take that next holiday found lots of ideas. I called and spoke to one of the Travel Consultants and that’s where the magic began.

Expert advice

Experienced advisors help coordinate routes around Europe tailored to individual needs, recommend certain journeys and meticulously piece together my European holiday to where I want to go, how long for and meet my budget.

With a range of 3,4 and 5 star hotels in their portfolio I’m always offered choice and told the best deals.

Everything is done for me

Once it’s all booked, my tickets are sent directly to home. My journey starts from my local railway station and by the time I’d normally be anxiously checking the Departures Board for the gate number at an airport, I’m sat having a glass of red wine watching the French countryside roll by.

So much to choose from

I’ve travelled for the weekend to Paris, to Belgian Christmas Markets and even a 3 week European adventure through Eastern Europe all by train….and each journey has been different. Exploring Europe by train is a magical experience and with Railbookers I know that the routes and hotels will have been thoroughly checked so I always feel safe.
