Places you will love to visit

This is the time to plan your outings and explore the UK. We often miss fantastic opportunities to see things in our own backyard.

Castles and Kippers

The Northumberland Coast has so much to offer; the magnificent Bamburgh Castle towers above the long sandy beach giving views over to Lindisfarne.

The fishing village of Craister which is famous for its oak-smoked kippers is quaint and colourful and the nearby ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle gives us a taste of history.

A visit to Bakewell where the tarts were first made makes a great stop over for tea. When you can samples the local fare.

Have Fun on the Canals

There are many fantastic walks to be had on the canals of England.  These were the motorways of their time; bring goods to the cities but are now used for recreation.  Walking here is flat and the wildlife can be seen in abundance and there are great watering holes to be found.

A Broad View

If you like the open sky and wide beaches head for the coast of Nofolk. If you want to get out and about on the water then the broads are just waiting to be explored.

If history is your thing then Norwich gives you so much to explore with its magnificent cathedral and the close and museums to while away the time before getting lunch in one of the many great restaurants.

Chichester with its cathedral and shops and visit to the theatre can make a great treat.  Here many of the great actors of our time perform in a variety of plays to suit all tastes.

Walking on the South Downs gives you a chance to top up on fresh air and exercise as this is an area of outstanding natural beauty.

A Game of Bowls

Plymouth is famous for gin and bowls.

Here you can follow in the footsteps of Drake and go up on Hoe for this is where he finished him game before going out to face the Spanish Armada.

This is the home of the Plymouth Gin Distillery and a visit to sample the tipples and find out more about the manufacturing of our favourite apperitif.

Naval History abounds here and you can explore the heritage of our sailing tradition.
