An Introduction to Llawnroc

An Introduction to Llawnroc

A Small Piece of Paradise

The Llawnroc is a new boutique hotel situated in the fishing village of Gorran Haven in south Cornwall.

A New Luxury Getaway

What was once a little village pub has been transformed into a luxurious Cornish getaway. It has 18 beautifully designed bedrooms, a fine dining restaurant and orangery.

And yes, there is still a pub on the side of the hotel. It’s integral to the heart of The Llawnroc – and perfect for a pint of St Austell Ale.

As you walk in the hotel, you are greeted by smart, contemporary interior design, with a huge glass fronted entrance providing a sense of space and light.

Where Did We Get the Name?

Did you guess? The name, Llawnroc, is ‘Cornwall’ spelt backwards.

So Much to See in the Local Area

Gorran Haven is an unspoilt fishing village in the Roseland Peninsula - tucked away on the south coast of Cornwall near Mevagissey.

A large part of the peninsula is designated nature reserve, with secluded little beaches, coves and rocky shores. It’s an ideal place to walk some of the famous South West Coast Path.

A Harbour on your Doorstep

Gorran Haven beach and harbour is just a short walk from the hotel and is a perfect spot for lazy afternoon walks. For boating enthusiasts, the beach has a slipway with facilities to moor boats.

Food to Die For using Local Ingredients

The food at The Llawnroc Restaurant prides itself on being the 'Best of British'. Responsibility lies in the capable hands of chef Neil Martin, whose culinary experience includes Marco Pierre White’s restaurant at the five-star Lowry Hotel and Cornwall’s Hotel Tresanton.

Neil strives to embrace the simplicity of locally-sourced, quality food that speaks for itself. He uses produce unique to Cornwall such as Fowey estuary mussels steamed with Cornish cider or hand-dived Cornish scallops, as well as locally-foraged ingredients including wild garlic, seaweeds and berries.

The hotel offers fine dining each evening – with Neil preparing a three-course menu changing daily.

If You Want to Eat in a more Informal Atmosphere

More informal, relaxed eating is also available in the pub or served in the LLawnroc’s light and airy orangery. Local foods are a speciality - from fresh, off the boat, fish and chips to Tregothnan tea served with scones and Cornish clotted cream.

Try the Local Brew

A selection of Cornwall’s finest tipples such as Camel Valley Brut and St Austell Ales are also served at the hotel.
