Over 50 and Travelling Alone?

Over 50 and Travelling Alone?

Widowed, divorced or single - there is a holiday for you

If you want to take a holiday but are concerned about travelling alone, why not try a coach tour or river cruise?

So many people are put off by memories of the old fashioned charabanc holidays that went to Blackpool or Margate with the kiss me quick hats, candyfloss and singsongs all the way there and back.

Some people think cruises are very expensive and only for the elite. How wrong they are.

Singles holidays for over 50s are so different

Europe offers so many great cities to visit and letting the coach take the strain gets you to the major sites without the hassle of having to struggle with the language and the bus or metro systems. Some holidays start in the UK and go all the way on the coach. Others fly you to a major city where you are met and escorted by knowledgeable guides throughout your holidays. They are there to look after you and know all the good places to eat and drink plus their commentary gives you an insight into the customs and traditions of the country you are visiting.

You can see so much in a short period of time because the coach drops you in the centre of the city and the drivers are able to pick you up without you having to walk for miles to find them.

The glories of classical Spain

Taking a tour to the beautiful cities of Seville, Granada and Cordoba is a magical experience with Riviera Travel. www.rivieratravel.co.uk//european-tours/tour/classical-spain/

The wonders of a city without streets and traffic

Why not think about Venice, Verona and Lake Garda which gives you the opportunity to explore Venice on foot; stand beneath the balcony made famous by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet or take the boat on the lake and eat Italian ice cream in a lakeside cafe. Newmarket Holidays have so many ideas. www.newmarketholidays.co.uk/

Taking to the river

A cruise is another option that allows you to make friends easily and you only have to unpack once and the river cruises offer by Viking Travel are a fantastic way of exploring a country from a different perspective. www.vikingrivercruises.co.uk

Making new friends

You will meet lots of people who have similar tastes and are usually 50 and upwards and make friends.

A fabulous way to travel

Whether you are single, divorced or have lost a partner recently this is a fabulous way to travel.
