Incredible Beauty Awaits You

Northern Italy is a land of lakes with fabulous villas and beautiful gardens that reflect in the cool waters. It is blessed with an incredible beauty and diversity - the foothills of the Alps with timeless valleys and the sparkling lakes of Maggiore and Como are just a stone’s throw from Milan. Each lake has its own charm and holds treasures to discover for everyone. Once you have visited this area, you will find a wonderland that will lure you back time and time again.

The mountain tops in winter are capped with snow that sparkles in the sunlight under the azure blue skies and in the other seasons the hillside rolls down to the lakeshore like a velvet green carpet. Passing through this area you will see along the way colourful red tiled villages clinging to the mountain sides.  Narrow roads follow the terrain clinging to the rocks and hovering above the clear water and at every turn there is another picture opportunity.

On Lake Como there is the old town of Bellagio and where you can wander the narrow streets to find mementos to take home to remind you of your holiday.

An Insight into the Past

On Lake Maggiore the town of Stresa gives a base to visit the timeless Borromean Islands.  These three islands in the lake were owned by the Borromea family and the exquisite Isola Bella gives you an insight into the life of the aristocracy of the past ages.

Along the lakes there are seasonal flowers peeping out between the cypress, chestnut, sycamore and palm trees. The deciduous and exotic stand side by side and it is a paradise for nature lovers and birdwatchers.

You can sip cappuccinos or aperitifs and gaze at the architectural wonders or natural vistas. You can visit the churches, museums and villas, stroll through the local markets and attend the festivals. The fresh air and peace will revive you and replenish your soul.

Then on to Lake Garda which is the greatest of the Italian lakes - a complex geologic system with valleys and rivers forming a beautiful natural wonder. The mountains with their rich vegetation; the crystalline water; the green shores; the enchanting villages that have charmed many poets and writers in the past. All this is displayed for your delight and you will never forget the lakeside towns with the ice cream parlours and pretty outdoor cafes and restaurants shaded by grape vines and flowers.
