Men and women can learn a variety of techniques such as Jacobean crewelwork, goldwork, silk shading, canvas stitches, stumpwork and many more. The RSN’s popular one day Introduction classes give students a ‘taster’ session in each technique.
You can buy gift vouchers for classes at the RSN which make fabulous presents for birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas. Prices start at £67 for a one day class.
As well as teaching traditional techniques, the RSN also runs classes to help you with the basics of design for embroidery and painting on canvas and fabric. There’s also lots of ideas for gifts (embroidered book-bindings, brooches and Christmas decorations) and creative suggestions for recycling fabrics. For latest info see their website.
For students wanting enhance their technical skills and learn over a longer period the RSN offers Certificate and Diploma Courses with flexible attendance options which attract students from all over the world. A two year full-time Foundation Degree is also available.
