Pet and Property Sitting

Pet and Property Sitting

The up and coming interest for retirees

It benefits pet and property owners whilst they're away and provides a great adventure for retired sitters. A real win-win solution.

If you'd like more trips away but balk at the cost of holiday accommodation you might consider becoming a pet or property sitter. You could see new places, meet new pets and stay in a home from home environment. And you'd be helping pet owners whose first consideration when planning a holiday or business trip is who will care for much loved pets?

Yes, they could go in a kennel or cattery but will they settle?

A neighbour could pop in but do you want to burden them with the responsibility? Do you really trust the teenager to care for your pets and home as you would and not have a wild party? These problems can all be avoided by employing a professional pet sitter to move into the house and take your place when you are away.

Pets have the luxury of staying in their own routine in the comfort of their own home while being spoilt rotten in the process! Likewise, homes remain lived in, secure and cared for. In fact care is often provided for larger homes without pets; how do you fancy playing Lord and Lady of the manor?

So who are the ideal candidates to take on this role?

Retired people!

Becoming a pet sitter is a fantastic way to do something completely different. Many people have lost pets and decided not to replace them. But this does not stop them missing the contact and relishing the prospect of spending a little time with some adorable animals.

At the same time pet sitters get the opportunity to stay in beautiful homes in absolutely wonderful locations. They can explore completely new areas, get out and about walking, enjoy hobbies or even take the chance to potter around a completely different garden and get inspiration for their own! Sitters can go away as little or as much as they like, and travel as far as they wish. Pet sitting fits perfectly into many peoples lives, in fact many sitters are happy to admit that it can actually act as a great way to be ‘unavailable’ for certain duties, such as babysitting, ensuring a little quiet ‘me’ time for a few weeks!

Paid for the pleasure

Anyone who decides that pet and property sitting is for them will also be paid for the privilege. You can work as a single sitter or with your partner. A basic wage is provided, along with food and travel expenses.

If you think it’s for you then the best way to do so is to contact an established pet sitting company such as Pet and Property Sitters who employ all their sitters and take care of all the paperwork and tax issues so that you do not have to worry about it.

Taking care of everything

They insure you; arrange all the bookings and are only a phone call away if you need them. Before completing a sit they also arrange a visit to the property so that you can meet their clients (and pets) and ensure that you are happy to stay there.

A new adventure

If this has inspired you to embark on a new adventure, Pet and Property Sitters would love to hear from you!
