We all know that life begins at 40, but have to admit there are a few downsides to getting older - not least the irritating health complaints that seem more prevalent in our later years.
From sore backs, to fading eyesight, our bodies can seem determined on making life tough for us, but while some of the health problems associated with age are minor, when they’re embarrassing ones, it can be tough to deal with – take for example, the age old piles problem.
Piles are a very common condition for those of us over 50, with 50% of people suffering in some point in their lives. However, many people do not feel comfortable discussing the condition with others. For that reason all too many people suffer in silence instead of asking for advice. But while you may feel more comfortable keeping it to yourself, by doing so you could be missing out on crucial information that could help you not only recover quicker but help prevent you suffering in the first place.
So how do you know if you have piles and what can you do to treat them and prevent them reoccurring?
If you need some confidential expert advice then watch our webTV show where Dr Christian Jessen from Embarrassing Bodies will be offering his help and support.
