Donovan Helps Raise Money for Barnados

Donovan Helps Raise Money for Barnados

Working with his Mother in Law.....

Donovan releases Christmas single for Barnardos with his 88 years "young" Mother in Law.

Christmas is all about Children

Legendary folk troubadour Donovan has written a magical Christmas song “Christmas Time Is Here Again” with his mother in law, Violetta. All proceeds from the single will go to Barnardos children’s charity of Ireland and the World.

Working in a Family Partnership

Violetta penned the lyric and Donovan the melody. Violetta (real name Violet Lawrence) who is his wife Linda’s mother celebrated her 88th birthday last October.

The single was recorded in Fiona Studios, Fermoy in Ireland and produced by the famous Brian O’Reilly. The children of Ballyhass School choir and Lili Inch lend their voices to the project.

A Song for Christmas

“Christmas Time Is Here Again” is a wonderful jingling jangling sing-along celebration of what the world loves about Christmas. This unique 4 generational single is so catchy, that the postman is already singing it!

This song is the latest of 7 songs that Donovan and Violetta have written together and recorded.

Praise from the Master

Donovan says, “Violetta is a late bloomer. She has sung all her life and always had a dream of recording. She’s a really good lyricist and a wonderful woman.”
