Rosaline told us that the school is progressing and they are teaching a number of children under the trees and looking forward to completing the building in due course.
Weather is not an issue and work is moving forward on the building and education front.
Contributions have been coming in and they have partnered with various companies to push the project forward.
The two houses in Harare are now being used to house volunteers who are working for Ndoro charity and set up as the offices for the project. These now have been equipped with a generator to ensure a constant supply of electricity and running water.
They have appointed a project manager who liaises with the suppliers and the local people. It has been essential to involve the local chiefs to find out what they want for their village and future. As we have said before it is easy for westerners to go in with their ideas of what the people want. Rosaline has found out the hard way that it brings great advantages if the people own the project so that they will work with her to get things moving.
Rosaline will be staying there for the next five months to keep things on track and we look forward to building work starting soon.
Roseline's story is one of inspiration and she has been the driving force behind the charity but knows that without the support of her family and friends she would not have been able to get to the position she is in today. She is always looking for new ways to raise money and to find partners who have the same ethos and are looking for the same result that she has always had.
Her dream to build this school is still very much alive and she asks people to give anything they can so that she will achieve the success of bringing education to the children of Zimbabwe who will make a better future for this impoverished land.
We at GiddyLimits wish her every success and ask you to take a look at her web site and give a contribution to this worthwhile project that will give the local children a brighter future. We will continue to tell her story and keep you up to date on what is happening in this small part of Africa.
Ndoro Children’s Charity now has offices in New York, South Africa and London so it is growing all the time.
They have an online charity shop so sign up today for their newsletter that will keep you up to date on developments and expansion plans. Join in the many exciting events that are organised in the UK and make a difference to the lives of the children.
