September marks the 50th Anniversary of Mothercare. Click the link below to see their YouTube video - 'Fifty Years of Parenting' - which takes a retrospective look back at what it was like to be a parent 50 years ago compared to what life is like for the modern parent. Parenting experts, one of whom has worked for Mothercare since the 1960s and seen the changes first hand, and a mother whose first child was born in the 1960s and a modern mum whose first child was born after the millennium, discuss their experiences.
It is a fascinating short video and shows retrospective research that looks into how the family structure has changed including the changing role of grandparents in family life.
